Dance for Parkinson's comes to Birmingham!
January 12, 1:00-3:30 pm
Southern Danceworks invites you to a special preview event for a new program that will launch in January 2012 called "Dance for Parkinson's Disease." Developed by the Mark Morris Dance Group in NYC, Dance for PD® classes empower participants to explore movement and music in ways that are refreshing, enjoyable, stimulating and creative. David Leventhal, founder of Dance for PD®, will teach a demonstration class from 1:00-2:30pm on January 12, followed by a facilitated discussion from 2:30-3:30pm. This event is free and open to the public. Visit the official Dance for PD® website at http://danceforparkinsons.org. If you are interested in taking David's class on January 12, contact rosemary@alabamadancecouncil.org. Southern Danceworks welcomes all who are interested in or affected by Parkinson's disease and the medical community that supports them.
