The Montgomery Ballet Presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream at The Wetumpka Civic Center, March 8, 2009
The Montgomery Ballet concludes its 2008-2009 season’s trio of performances in Wetumpka with the Wetumpka premiere of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the new Wetumpka Civic Center on March 8, 2009 at 2:30 P.M. “Montgomery Ballet is proud to end these yearly successful concerts in Wetumpka with the company’s newest hit, A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, says Artistic Director Elie Lazar. “This ballet has the perfect blend of beauty, comedy, passion and love that delights audiences and highlights the technical range of our growing company of professional dancers”, he states.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream had its premiere last month in Montgomery to a standing ovation from the audience and rave reviews in The Montgomery Advertiser and Ballet.co UK. The Shakespearean classic set to an enchanting Mendelssohn score was choreographed by Elie Lazar, Artistic Director for the capital city’s official dance company.
This performance concludes the exciting presentation of ballets that The Montgomery Ballet brought to Wetumpka in its 2008-2009 season – a full mixed repertoire in October, the full-length Christmas classic, The Nutcracker in December, and on March 8th at 2:30 P.M., A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
“This is the third year that The Montgomery Ballet has brought top quality dance to the Wetumpka Civic Center”, says Elie Lazar. “And our commitment will continue in the 2009-2010 season with Snow White, The Nutcracker, and more jewels of dance from our growing repertoire”, he says.
