Deborah Mauldin has been on the forefront of modern dance creativity the since the 1980’s. As past President of the Alabama Dance Council, the Sacred Dance Guild, and current Executive Director of the American Dance Guild in NYC, she is a gifted artist and dedicated leader. She has pioneered the Japanese art form of Butoh in Alabama, hosted Butoh artists to the State of Alabama, uses Butoh as a collaborative form, founding the company Bearing Light Butoh in 2006, & is premiers many new solo and group works from Birmngham to NYC since 2007. Wow seems we both have come such a long way from UM days, I miss them though.
