Stevan Grebel presents the comedic ballet Coppélia this weekend, May 18 at 3pm, at Pelham High School Theatre. While the story and music date back to the mid 19th century, the whimsical, playful banter between it's lovers Swanilda (Anna Spencer of John Carroll Catholic High School) and Franz (Ian Adams, a senior dancer at Birmingham-Southern College) can translate to any generation, old or young. - The Stevan Grebel Center for Dance, under the direction of Stevan and Deborah Grebel, believes that every student has the right to a quality danc education. The program's reputation for fine training and its humanizing approach to ballet education is unsurpassed in the area. Classes are based on the teaching of Agrripina Vagonova (Russian Method) and are customized to include personal instruction and mentoring. Self-disciplin and dedication to work, along with a love and appreciation of dance as an art form, are nurtured in each child.

Stevan Grebel's The Nutcracker
Auditions for Stevan Grebel's The Nutcracker will be held September 17 at Grebel Dance studios. Stevan is also setting his production for The Montgomery Ballet this year. He is the guest artistic director for this season in Montgomery. They will be performing at the Montgomery Zoo in Ballet and the Beasts with Coppelia Act II, Napoli, and more.
