Taryn Packheiser will perform Stag Unassisted 3.0 on Saturday, February 18th at 7pm and Sunday, February 19th at 2pm at the Children's Dance Foundation in Homewood, Alabama. This solo show features dance, theater, performance art and digital video projection. Stag Unassisted is a "piece of pieces" exploring the essential nature of "going solo." Taryn Packheiser is a choreographer, dancer, and audio-visual artist. Her work has been produced across the United States, as well as in Costa Rica's Promising Artists of the 21st Century program. She has danced professionally with Ken James of Fellow Travelers Performance Group, Hurley & Dancers, Dance Co'Motion, 3rd Law Dance Theatre, Elinor Coleman Dance Ensemble, and Urban Impact. Taryn makes audio scores for her own dances, as well as for other choreographers. Her video pieces have been screened at various festivals, most notably at the Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema and at FirstWorks. Packheiser received her MFA in Choreography and Performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a BFA in Contemporary Dance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
