Alabama Dance Theatre performed at International Ballet Competition in Jackson, MS

The Alabama Dance Theatre performed Janie Alford’s “Dances of Faith” at the International Ballet Competition in Jackson, MS on June 24, 2010. The Alabama Dance Theatre had the distinct honor of representing the Southeastern Regional Ballet Association Festival at the Regional Dance America Performance at IBC 2010.

The International Ballet competition is “one of the world’s most prestigious dance events. The USA International Ballet Competition is a two-week ‘olympic-style’ competition where tomorrow’s ballet stars vie for gold, silver, and bronze medals; cash awards and scholarships. Designated as the official USA Competition by a 1982 Joint Resolution of Congress, the USA IBC is held every four years, in the tradition of sister competitions in Varna, Bulgaria and Moscow, Russia.”

Alabama Dance Theatre Dancers along with Beth Nielsen Chapman and her band performed live with ADT. "Dances of Faith" includes music from Beth's Hymn's and Prism albums. Musicians Ernest Chapman, Jessie Friedman, and John Ragusa also travelled to perform with the Alabama Dance Theatre.
