News Release“Alabama Dance Theatre opens 23rd Season of Enchantment”The Alabama Dance Theatre opens its spectacular 23rd Season of Enchantment with two successful free performances of “Stars on the Riverfront” in early August and will continue its tradition of excellence in the 2009-2010 Season. Alabama Dance Theatre has achieved regional recognition and has established a reputation as a premiere training ground for pre-professional dancers.The Alabama Dance Theatre is proud to announce its upcoming season that will begin with a world premiere of “Dracula,” a ballet to die for. Audiences across the country are sinking their teeth into thrilling vampire dramas. Don’t miss this opportunity to see Alabama Dance Theatre’s dramatic adaptation of Bram Stoker’s gothic masterpiece “Dracula” a ballet to die for. Choreographed by ADT’s own award, winning Sara Sanford, “Dracula” is a must see and is sure to entertain the audience as one of our cultures most familiar stories. Performances will be held Saturday, November 7 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, November 8 at 2:30 p.m.In addition to “Dracula” ADT will continue to herald Montgomery’s holiday season, by continuing the beloved tradition of “Mistletoe,” featuring “Favorite Dances of Christmas”. This will be performed for one day only on Saturday, November 7th at 2:30 p.m. at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival as a special children’s matinee. The children will also have the opportunity to come on stage for a party and to meet Santa Claus after the performance.Back by popular demand, “Peter Pan” is the highlight of ADT’s annual spring performance. “Peter Pan” and new contemporary works will be performed March 5-7, 2010.The Alabama Dance Theatre, an acclaimed regional company, and top ranking Honor Company member of Southeastern Regional Ballet Association (SERBA) will travel to attend the annual 5 day festival in High Point, NC May 5-9, 2010.In addition to public performances, ADT offers three special school performances of “Mistletoe” and “Peter Pan” for over 2,000 area students.
