Rachel joins the ADC after an extensive career with Nashville Ballet 2, the Alabama Ballet, and AROVA Contemporary Ballet. She has studied Revolutionary Principles of Movement with Wes Chapman and Cheryl Ale, based on the syllabus of Ruth Petrinovic, and Dance for Parkinson’s Disease with David Leventhal of the Mark Morris Dance Group. Rachel recently completed Zena Rommett Floor-Barre® Technique Certification, first level.  She is on faculty at NS Dance Studio and Beverly’s Dance Unlimited.

Rachel was the Managing Director for AROVA Contemporary Dance, where she was responsible for scheduling and communication with the dancers, editing grant proposals, coordinating with the marketing director, and other day-to-day operational duties. She has participated in the Alabama Dance Festival as a performer, and is looking forward to assisting Rosemary with the upcoming events.

Lisa Gibbs will help Rachel with the transition and will be available as needed to help with Festival preparations. She is planning to pursue her interest in dance education undergraduate degree programming in Alabama and increasing the number of dance educators working in Alabama’s K-12 schools. Lisa also works part-time with Primerica, a leading financial services organization, and teaches at The Pointe Dance Arts in Hoover.

Welcome, Rachel!!!
