Co-presented by the Birmingham Museum of Art and the Alabama Dance Festival, Voyeur pushes Bridgman|Packer’s exploration of the live and virtual into new territory choreographically, thematically, and technologically. With the paintings of Edward Hopper as a point of departure, this work bears witness to fragmented moments of private lives. It incorporates a multi-surfaced set made of hinged panels at various angles. Through the use of video projections, the set transforms, evoking imagery of both spatial and psychological enclosures as the performers are seen through the windows and doorway.

Performances are FREE, no reservations required, on January 18 at 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm in the Jemison Gallery at the Birmingham Museum of Art. Join us 30 minutes prior to each performance for Inside the Dance, a pre-performance talk and exploration of the set and live camera projections. After each performance, the artists will join the audience for a post-performance discussion moderated by Ivan Sygoda, the Festival's Scholar-in-Residence. Recommended for mature audiences.
