Auditions for the Alabama Youth Ballet Company 2011-12 new company members will be on Saturday, May 7 at Grebel Dance studios in Pelham. The audition for Senior Company is 11am-12:30pm and the Junior Company is 11:30am-12:30pm. The audition fee is $10.
The Alabama Youth Ballet Company is the premiere youth ballet company in Alabama, serving dancers all over the state with a professional education in classical ballet, repertoire, modern dance, jazz and performance. Directed by renowned teacher Stevan Grebel, the AYBC is a non-profit 501c3 organization which strives to bring the highest quality of dance education and performance to Shelby County and the metro south area. Students from the school and the company have been accepted to prestigious college dance programs, fine arts schools, summer intensives and dance companies throughout the United States and Europe, such as the Kirov Academy, Birmingham-Southern College, Southern Methodist University, University of Southern Mississipi, University of Alabama, Alabama School of Fine Arts, North Carolina Dance Theatre, Prix de Lausanne, ABT, SAB, Joffrey and Julliard, to name a few.
