The first eight-week session of Dance for Parkinson's classes will begin on Tuesday, March 27, 12:00-1:15 pm and will meet weekly every Tuesday through May 15.

Classes will be jointly taught by Teri Weksler and Mary Margaret Scalici. Participants may sign up for the entire session or pay weekly on a drop-in basis. Classes integrate movement from many techniques: ballet, modern, tap, and jazz. Warm up begins in chairs, and evolves to standing, and finally to moving across the floor. Through movement, participants build coordination, strength, flexibility, balance, control, and confidence. Participants may wear tennis shoes or socks for class, and dress in comfortable clothing like for exercise class. No dance experience is necessary. Participants may remain seated through the entire class, if preferred.

Class Location: Alabama Ballet Center for Dance, 2726 1st Avenue South, Birmingham, 35233

Class fees: $10 per class (no charge for caregivers)

Registration: R.S.V.P. to teriweksler@bellsouth.net or call 205- 746-0061.
