For Dance Movement Theory we will be introducing the FRC (Functional Range Conditioning) system. A system of mobility
training based on scientific principles and research.
Developed by world-renowned musculoskeletal, and human movement expert Dr. Andreo Spina, Functional Range
Conditioning (FRC®), is a system of joint health, and mobility training based in scientific principles and research. Mobility
refers to the amount of USABLE motion that one possesses across a particular articulation (joint). The more mobile a person
is, the more they are able to maximize their movement potential safely, efficiently, and effectively.
Benefits of FRC
Improved mobility & flexibility
Improved movement
Stronger and healthier joints
Improved balance and body control
Improved athletic performance
Decreased injury rates
In FRC, there is a saying….MAKE STUFF WORK NICE. Hips are hips and shoulders are shoulders. If they work nice, as in have full range of motion and rotational capacity, you have more movement options and decrease chance of injury. The purpose of this class will be to improve the connection you have with yourself and your own body. There is no better direct application to life or sport than improving the function and capacity of your joints.
