Dance the Dream Birmingham has been moved to Thursday, May 15, because of weather. This event brings the city together to celebrate and live the values and goals of the “I Have a Dream” speech and is part of the worldwide Dance the Dream tribute, hosted by over 30 cities, including London, Paris, Prague, New York, Beirut, Kabul, Jerusalem, Singapore, Mumbai, Dublin, Boston, Chicago, Houston, and Seattle. Dance the Dream Birmingham is spearheaded by the Alabama Dance Council in partnership with the Office of the Mayor, Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, Cultural Alliance of Greater Birmingham, Birmingham Times, BJTA MAX, WVTM Alabama’s 13, and Summit Media. It is directed by Winston Strickland, Artistic Director of M.A.D. Skillz Dance Company, and produced by Richard Karz, producer of the PBS documentary special, Legacy: Being Black in America (aka, Legacy: Black & White in America). REGISTER NOW!
