Devyani performs at Halloween Spooktacular

In an effort to raise money and awareness for the plight of homeless and abused dogs everywhere, the world-renowned belly dance troupe Devyani Dance Company will perform at “Halloween Spooktacular,” a fundraiser benefiting the Birmingham Boston Terrier Rescue on Saturday, October 31.The Birmingham Boston Terrier Rescue (www.bhambtr.org) is a local non-profit organization whose mission is to rescue Boston Terriers in need, address any health concerns they may have, and then find loving, permanent homes for each one. Their ability to provide such services depends upon donations from generous citizens in the community and volunteers who foster the dogs until they’re adopted into a permanent home. The group cares for all types of Boston Terriers, from pregnant moms to special needs dogs to many who are pulled from local shelters. The Boston Terrier breed is well known for their intelligence, playfulness, and friendly nature.Halloween Spooktacular will take place Saturday, October 31, from 6pm until 10pm at Lakeview Personal Fitness, which is located at 3020 4th Avenue South. Tickets are $25 in advance (available through www.bhambtr.org) and $35 at the door. Food and drinks, music, a silent auction, and costume contests are included. Well-behaved dogs who are up-to-date on shots and do not scare easily are welcome to attend.
