Cultural Movement with Purpose – LaVondia Bryant-Square, Nathifa Dance Company
Get the rhythm going and your body moving as you experience African drumming and movement classes with LaVondia, Artistic Director of Nathifa Dance Company, a performing arts company that specializes in traditional dances from Mali, Senegal and Guinea West Africa. The first hour focuses on drumming and the second hour on movement. A great weekday lunch workout or Saturday family outing!

Hip Hop with M.A.D. Skillz Dance Company – Winston Strickland
Observe or take class with the dynamic M.A.D. Skillz company dancers under the direction of Artistic Director Winston Strickland. He just might work you into company rehearsals, too!

Make It, Take It Workshops – Rachel Bates
Rachel Bates, a member of Bib & Tucker sew-op, will present a workshop on how to make fabric necklaces.

Under My Umbrella – Rachel Bates
Under My Umbrella” is an art exhibit by Rachel Bates showing all the things that are done underneath the umbrella.”

Art Show Closing – Myrna Gates
Myrna Gates continues her current art show “We’re gonna have to take this and flip it” for the East Lake Artist Village.
When: October 16, 6:00-8:00 pm.
Bridge – Katie Gonzalez
The word bridge is defined as “something that is intended to reconcile or form a connection between two things.” Bridges are literal connections between two points, as well as metaphorical connections between ideas. For this project, Katie will explore the idea of connections through the interactive installation of a bridge created out of string. Katie will be hosting community Natural Dye Workshops to dye the string for the installation.

Through the Wall – Rachael Inman & Mary Foshee
Choreographer Rachael Inman presents her new piece called “Through The Wall” with dance partner Mary Foshee. This piece is an exploration of the spaces on either side of the wall between gallery 4 and 5 inside of the East Lake Performing Arts Center.
When: October 16, 6:00-8:00 pm (open rehearsal), October 17, 10:00 am-2:00 pm (performance).
Goddesses – Amber Orr
Amber Orr will be presenting a site-specific installation of her paintings.
When: October 16 and throughout the month of October.
Mana Prima Collective Painting – Julianna Richey
This workshop is a collective live painting canvas with acrylic paints that teaches a particular hand-painting technique called "mana prima," which uses the visually captured patterns created by the motion of the hand and fingers to serve as the foundation for a work. Everyone is invited to contribute to the painting!

Luminaries 3D Lantern Installation – Red Mountain Makers
In the Luminaries workshops, people are invited to design their own panels to construct 3D lanterns using LED lights. Once installed around the East Lake Artist Village, the lanterns will both illuminate and cast shadows on the events going on throughout the month.
