Alabama's Downtown Dance Conservatory, under the direction of Linze McRae, has taken inspiration from the original Marius Petipa choreography and story
from E.T.A Hoffman. McRae's story takes on a Russian flare by replacing the infamous Mouse King with Evilla Baba Yaga, a spider queen villain notorious for stealing children and their presents each Christmas Eve.  The Nutcracker Princess battles Baba Yaga victoriously to whisk Marie into the Land of Sweets. McRae's Nutcracker is a dazzling show for all ages with original costuming, scenery, and choreography. Tickets are available at www.wallacehall.org
