Intenisive Summer Workshop at Westwood Ballet with Tracey Thompson of Ballet Magnificat and The Magnificat Youth Ballet Cost $100 Ages 4th Grade-Advanced The goal of this workshop is to instill in the dancers a desire to pursue technical excellence in ballet technique, pointe, allegro, and choreography. The purpose of this technical ability is to use the art of ballet to share with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The dancers will be challenged by a 3-day intensive workshop to build strength and technique which will increase their ability to dance for the Lord. It is the hope of Ms. Tracey that the students of this workshop would grow in their relationship with Christ and see the gift of dance as a way of expressing their passion for God. Class Descriptions: Technique: Study of classical ballet technique based upon the Vaganova method. Pointe: Class for students who have danced on pointe for at least one year. We will work on the basics of pointe starting with barre work and progressing to Centre. Allegro: Class to work on the technique of jumping from Petit Allegro to Grande Allegro. Choreography: Class in which dance choreography will be taught in order to be performed. The choreography will be taken from Magnificat Youth Ballet repertory. Dancers from Magnificat Youth Ballet will be working with our dancers to prepare them for a special performance on Saturday, June 20. Please call to register
