AUDITION FOR MOBILE BALLET’S 2024-2025 COMPANY!
We have an exciting season of performances planned, including A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Nutcracker, and The Princess and the Frog! Company members have the opportunity to perform onstage with stellar professional guest artists in our season productions, as well as represent Mobile Ballet at community events and outreach programs.
The Mobile Ballet Company offers serious dancers an extraordinary training opportunity right here in Mobile with outstanding faculty and guest instructors. Several of our alumni have received scholarships to train at some of the best dance programs around the country, have danced professionally with major companies, or have gone on to careers in dance education.
The 2024-2025 Company audition will take place on Monday, May 20, 2024, 5:00-6:30 pm at our Mobile Studio, 4351 Downtowner Loop North, Mobile, Alabama.
There is no audition fee.
Audition requirements are as follows:
- Dancers must be 12 years old by December 1, 2024.
- Male and female dancers are encouraged to audition.
- To qualify for Company: female dancers must have completed a minimum of two (2) years of pointe training.
- To qualify for Junior Company: female dancers must have completed a minimum of one (1) year of pointe training.
- Male dancers must have completed a minimum of two (2) years of ballet training.
- Any exceptions must be approved by the Artistic Director.
- Female dancers: Bring ballet slippers as well as your pointe shoes. Wear a solid color leotard, pink ballet tights, pink ballet slippers and pointe shoes, hair in a bun, and no jewelry (a solid color skirt is optional).
- Male dancers: Wear a white tight-fitted t-shirt, black footed tights, black ballet shoes, and a dance belt (when necessary).
- Arrive early to allow time for check-in from 4:30-5:00 pm. Audition class begins at 5:00 pm.
Current 2023-2024 first-year Junior Company members must audition to be considered for the new season
Mobile Ballet Company time commitments to consider:
All Mobile Ballet Company and Junior Company members are required to attend a minimum of 4 ballet classes per week at the Mobile Ballet School (Mobile or Eastern Shore location), including Company classes and rehearsals (Company on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays; Junior Company on Tuesdays and Saturdays). Additional rehearsals are required leading up to performances. Dues and schedules to be announced soon; check back here for updates, or contact the office for additional info.

Parent/Guardian must complete and sign an Audition Registration Form on-site on the day of audition for dancers under 18.
