Come experience the exciting adventures of Clara and the Nutcracker Prince with The Alabama Youth Ballet Company this summer!  In this one week workshop, children will experiment with movement, music, storytelling and costuming as they relate to ballet.  Older students will learn about the audition process, stage direction and more, in a professional atmosphere.  This workshop is open to all children and students ages 4 and up are invited to attend this one-of-a-kind workshop in our area.

Who hasn't wanted to play the part of Clara and the Nutcracker Prince and friends, dance and jump out from under Mother Ginger's big skirt or learn secrets to the variations and partnering choreography from the exciting Kingdom of the Sweets?  What fun it is listen to the beautiful music of Tchaikovsky and to learn all about it, too! Children will choreograph some of their own segments during the week to relate the story through their own feeling of dance.  All students will showcase their hard work at a mini-performance at the close of class on Friday.

Come and learn these dances before the audition season begins!  Experience on pointe is required for variations and the pas de deux.
