Join the Downtown Dance Conservatory on June 5th, 2010 for its 6th annual classical and contemporary dance production with the originally written “Prudence in Pepperland.” Written and inspired from the entire span of music from The Beatles, the show is a winding road full of whimsical costumes, characters, classical choreography.The story begins in the streets of London with Prudence, a poor girl selling flowers in the market. As a storm rushes through the city, she finds refuge in an old warehouse. The warehouse twists and turns until Prudence finds herself amongst some strange characters and discovers the road to a whole new land – Pepperland.On her journey, Prudence wonders through Norwegian Wood, picks strawberries in Strawberry Fields, swims in the Sea of Holes, takes a stroll down Penny Lane, and even meets Her Majesty the Queen. The long and winding road finds its end in the Diamond City with Prudence meeting the elusive Lucy in the Sky. The production blends the classical and the quirky for a night of enjoyment for all ages.Written by artistic director Linze Rickles McRae, the show features a cast of over 200 students currently training at the Conservatory and the members of the Downtown Dance Artists. The show will be one night only and performed inside the Wallace Hall Fine Arts Center at 7:00 PM. Tickets will go on sale April 29th at 12 PM and are $11 for adults and $8 for children.
