The Alabama State Council on the Arts and Alabama State University’s Department of Theatre Arts present An International Exchange of Dance

The New Dance Drama from Pietrasanta, Italy will be in residence at the Tullibody Fine Arts Center at Alabama State University from April 21 through April 23, 2009. Master classes will be open to the public for dancers intermediate to advanced levels. These classes will be held in the dance studio in the Tullibody Fine Arts Building at Alabama State University. Class times follow:Tuesday, April 21st and Thursday April 23rd9:30 – 11:00 a.m.1:00 – 2:30 p.m.Tuesday only (4/21)7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.Classes are free but space is limited. Green at 334-242-4076 Ext. 241 or email: diana.green@arts.alabama.govThe New Dance Drama will perform two original works by director Adria Ferrali on Monday, April 27th in Sylacauga at Sylacauga High School Auditorium. Ms. Feralli is a former soloist with the Martha Graham Dance Ensemble. The New Dance Drama will perform 3 original works by Ms. Ferrali. Genesys, is a dance drama depicting the biblical story of Adam and Eve. Sacrifice tells the story of Isaac and Abraham. Notte (or Night) visits contemporary issues such as civil rights, war and violence. Her work is provocative and emotional with dramatic depth. There will be a talk session for those who would like to hear about her work starting a 6:00 p.m. At 6:30 p.m. the audience will be entertained by visiting musicians from Pietrasanta. The dance concert will begin at 7:00 p.m.
