The Birmingham Chinese Garden & Asian Cultural Center Foundation, in partnership with the Alabama Dance Council, the American Dance Guild, the U.A.B. Asian-American Organization, and the Alys Stephens Center, will bring H. T. Chen and Dancers to Birmingham May 5-9, 2009, for a half-week residency. While in the metro-Birmingham area, the Company will present two regional dance workshops: one at Birmingham-Southern College and the other at the University of Montevallo; a "Meet the Artist" series performance for middle and high school students from local public, private, and home schools at the Alys Stephens Center, as part of their Arts in Action Educational and Outreach Initiative; and two public performances in the Sirote Theatre at the Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center on the campus of UAB.Performance times are: Friday, May 8 at 7:30 pm(A reception to meet Master Artist H.
