Birmingham Ballet will be hosting a benefit on Saturday June 11. This event will be to celebrate the premiere of the new Repertory Company as well as the partnership developed with the Laura Crandall Brown Ovarian Cancer Foundation. It will be a night to say thanks to sponsors, donors and the Birmingham Ballet family.

CBS 42’s Kaitlin McCulley will be featured as emcee for the evening. A live jazz band from University of Alabama Birmingham under the direction of Dr. Steve Roberts will entertain guests. Catering will be provided by Edgar’s Bakery, Another Broken Egg Café, and Baskits. Swag bags filled with items valued at over fifty dollars will go home with each guest.   

Birmingham Ballet has partnered with the Laura Crandall Brown Ovarian Cancer Foundation to help raise awareness of the signs of Ovarian Cancer. Jim Crandall, president of the foundation, is excited about the partnership between the two groups, “The Birmingham Ballet has supported many fine organizations in years past and we are honored that they have chosen to partner with us. The Ballet has allowed us to expand our audience to bring awareness to many more women and their families in the Birmingham area. We hope this partnership will expand awareness with women of all ages about the subtle signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer.”

The event will be held at Pale Eddie’s Pour House in from 7-9 p.m. Admission is a 5 dollar donation to the Laura Crandall Brown Ovarian Cancer Foundation.  For more information contact Stephanie Thompson, Birmingham Ballet Director of Marketing and Public Relations.
