I began my journey in hula and Tahitian dance while living on O'ahu, Hawa'ii, where I fell in love with the different Polynesian cultures. I started performing hula in 2013 and Tahitian in 2014 with Moments Unforgettable Dance Studio of Honolulu. There I performed at many different venues around the island.
I continue to train under the direction of Kumu (teacher) Hula Kau'i Dalire out of Kaneohe Hawai'i. I have just recently had the honor of opening the Alabama branch of Kumu Hula Dalire's Halau Ka Lihilihilehua 'O Hopoe Kuikanani. I lead hula classes under Kumu's direction and teachings, to insure that each haumana receives authentic instruction regarding hula and to learn about the Hawaiian culture.
While on the island of O’ahu, I also performed hula with the Ladies Hula Worship and Praise group with Mililani Baptist Church in Mililani, Hawaii.
Both locations helped to instill a deep sense of spiritual connection to God, through dance, which helped me to find my passion in performing.
I hope to bring the beauty and the story of the Hawaiian and Tahitian culture to our area, through dance, and I invite you to be apart of the journey.
