Professional Profile or Short Bio: I am a 23 year old belly dance student. Currently a student of Zaina in Pelham and UHR in Homewood. I am a member of Zaina's student troupe "Marhaba", which means 'welcome' in arabic, along with Karen Powell and Jehana Branch. In Nov. 09, Marhaba was runner up in the 2009 Southeastern Belly Dance Queen Competition - Troupe Category. I have always had a strong interest in belly dance. My mother introduced me to it when I was very young. She was a professional Egyptian and Turkish style belly dancer in the 70s. I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful 3 year old son. We are also going to be welcoming a new baby due, Aug 2010. I will be taking a hiatus from performances until then, but plan to continue dancing as much as I can!!
